The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Roger Hammond can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Words cannot express the sorrow felt in our hearts for the loss of Roger. He was not only a wonderful cousin, but a great mentor and friend. I always looked up to Roger. He was a gifted athlete and I envied his talents, but he was also a very intelligent, kind hearted individual. He would include me in many activities with his friends, even though I was 3 years their junior. He was the main reason I chose to become a Jayhawk and attend KU, although not leaving a legacy like he did. We drifted apart after we both left KU, but I have never forgotten the bond we shared. You will be sorely missed by many people, Roger. God bless you.
