An Angel

We first met Janet on our second family member stay at Valley Hope. We heard her lecture and observed her strong spirit and faith and willingness to help alcoholics who wanted something different.Janet became a game changer in our lives on our third stint at Valley Hope! I thought that no human being could break Art's bull headiness and hard core attitude-he was a wild alcoholic stallion out of control! Upon arrival at Valley Hope he found out Janet was to be his counselor- a blessing from God! Janet told me, I'll take care of him, you go home and go to Al-Anon, and don't come back until you do. Things started to turn around very quickly, and we both trusted and grew to dearly love Janet. She guided our entire family through a very tough 5 weeks, but vowed to never leave us alone! Janet always had a smile and words of encouragement all the while making sure feelings, hurt, and total honesty were always on the table-if they wern't she called us on it.When we left Valley Hope we left with memories of a woman who left a footprint on us forever! After 4 years of sobriety not a day goes by where one of us does not mention Janet! We believe Janet was an angel that was brought into our life, and to show us how much we had to live for!
