The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Julia McCoy can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

My Mother

Julia, Mom, Grandma and Aunt Judy were all names that our Mother resonded to happily.  She enjoyed being around her family and friends.  One of her loves was music.  She enjoyed singing in her Church choir and the hymns. This love of music spread through out our family to my brother and myself, our children and the grandchildren.  What a gift that she shared that keeps on giving and enjoyed!  Mom also enjoyed watching and listening to the Royals baseball games and loved eating pizza.  Mom was involved in our education, school activites and our sports. She loved to travel with family and friends. She traved to many U.S. states  including a cruise to Hawaii and camping in Canada.  Merle and I appreciated Dad and Mom helping us out on our farm in Holyrood, Ks. during our wheat harvest especially when our children were young. They loved being a part of all of their grandchildren lives. Our last time together with Mom and our family, Merle, Lisa, Eric, Aaron, my brother Joe and his wife Diane was in Sept. 2015 at the Village Villa Nursing Home in Nortonville, KS.  It was a family reunion because we had not been together for a long time.  Mom, even with her dementia, was happy to see all of us, visited, laughed and seemed to be a little like the Mom/Grandma we knew and remembered. And now we are left with those good memories and yes pictures too!  We feel blessed and now Mom rests in peace.
