The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Stephen Mauzey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

East End Club

I told Ginger I'd be an emotional wreck if I tried to tell the story at her Dad's memorial service but I'll try to share some details about the East End Club's existence.  The class of 1963 had study hall in the library and Steve, Ronnie and I always used the large table on the east end of the large room.  Steve had the idea one day of forming a club, sure thing we thought, why not?  Selecting the name was most important, ha ha.  Steve was elected president, Ronnie secretary and I was picked to guard all our money as treasurer.  Now for a money making project we bought and resold candy bars, "that was small change, need a larger cash flow" says Steve.  Therefore the "East End Gazette", a school newspaper was started, with approval from Mr. Robey of course.  Steve was editor, Ronnie was assigned sports editor, can't remember my title, and we did have a couple of under cover reporters, Dave and Steve.  Not to be disrespectful but Steve did have a sarcastic sense of humor and used it when telling stories of different highschool students.  Wasn't long before we were called into the office and told hence forth our articles were to be approved before hand.  I'm pretty sure many kids were embarrassed to see their names and escapades repeated in print but at ten cents per copy it put money in the bank.  At our twenty year class reunion we decided it was time to cash in the forty three dollars from our passbook savings account and buy some party favors.  Thus the East End Club was officially dissolved on May 18, 2016.
