Obituary for Terrance Emery Hennis

Terrance Emery  Hennis
Terrance E. Hennis, 73, of Bendena, KS passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home in Bendena, KS.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Rev. Lou Davies officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Troy, KS. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. Memorials in honor of Terry are suggested to Lancaster United Methodist Church Youth Group or Bendena Community Park and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Terry was born March 19, 1942, in Atchison, KS, the son of Emery and Genevieve (Young) Hennis. He served in the United State Army in North Africa during the Vietnam War. Terry worked at Allied Signal formerly known as Honeywell as a Tool Crib Machinist. He was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Terry enjoyed going to the Highland Community Center for lunch, gardening, flowers, birds, reading and traveling. He especially loved his family, grandkids and his dogs.

Terry married Rose “Marie” Dittemore on October 21, 1967 in Atchison at the Church of the Nazarene. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2011. Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Rick) Zishka, Lancaster, KS; Cindy (Terry) McCray, Atchison, KS; Terry Lynn (Allen) Harries, Marysville, KS; two step sons; Steven (Debbie) Mansil, Gladstone, MO; Kennith (Diane) Mansil, Olathe, KS; a brother; Ted Hennis, Amarillo, TX, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Tom Hennis.
