Obituary for Stephen Wayne Harl

Stephen Wayne Harl, 67, of Overland Park, KS passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, KS.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday May 16, 2015 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS, with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Stephen was born January 25, 1948 in Atchison, KS the son of William and Vergie (Thomas) Harl. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Stephen worked in the three motels his family owned and operated, Deer Motel in the Lake of the Ozarks.
He is survived by his mother Vergie Harl, Overland Park, KS, two brothers; William C. Harl, Overland Park, KS, Daniel R. Harl, Gardner, KS, two nieces;, Kande Sell, Shawnee, KS, Katie Decker, Omaha, NE, one nephew; William D. Harl, Overland Park , KS, three great nephews, one great niece and one great nephew in law.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother David Harl.
