Roy Wallace  Rosenburg
Roy W. Rosenburg, 87 of Cummings, KS passed away Sunday, March 08, 2015 at Atchison Senior Village.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS with Chaplain Ryan VanPeursem, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Cummings Christian Church or NEK Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Roy was born May 12, 1927 in Rolla, MO the son of Christopher Columbus and Eliza Jane (Davis) Rosenburg. He worked for Midwest Grain as a Maintenance Supervisor for forty-four years. He was a member of the Cummings Christian Church, Masonic Lodge #158, and served on White Clay school board. Roy bowled on the Midwest Solvents bowling team, he was known to his teammates and coworkers as “Rosie”. He was an avid fisherman, taking his daughters, grandkids, and neighborhood kids fishing. He even took his grandson to Canada on a fishing trip. Roy also enjoyed holding fish fry’s, bird hunting, gardening and the casino. He also was a master wine maker, making wine for his granddaughter wedding reception.

Roy married Velma Surritte on November 27, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters; Sandy and Keith Young, Effingham, KS and Connie and Bud Parrett, Leavenworth, KS, a sister Faye Grisham, Rolla, MO, three grandchildren, Jodi (Mike) Guetterman, Holly (Scott) Jeschke, Ryan (Ashley) Young , nine great grandchildren with one more on the way and beloved dog Susie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Lester, Lyle, Dale, Earl, Ray, Jim, Harold Rosenburg and two sisters Velma Feeler and Ann Simon.
