The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Daniel Erpelding can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

My uncle Erp

There are truly no words to express how much this man meant to me growing up and throughout my life. He and my Aunt Nean were two of the kindest and most caring people, with the biggest hearts I have ever known. He was a selfless giver of his time, knowledge, and kindness to me and the Coder family. He was so loved by us all, and he will be greatly missed. There never was a Coder family construction project that Dan wasn’t on giving his time and knowledge to every one of us all of his life. He often was the leader of drunken idiots, but his presence made all the difference to everyone there. I can’t even count the number of hunting and fishing trips spent with uncle Erp and my uncles, but they were something I always looked forward to and some of the best times and memories of my life. It was never anything glamorous, a weekend fishing and camping, frying up the days catch, then just sitting around the campfire sharing stories until late into the evening.  Or the annual opening weekend pheasant hunt to western Kansas. I consider it an honor to have called this man my uncle, and my thoughts are with you Aunt Nean and Amy.

Love your nephew Kirk
