Anna Marie “Anne” (Bilderback) Hanshaw, 67 of Atchison passed away Wednesday April 9, 2014 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Monday April 14, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Atchison, KS with Abbot Barnabus Senecal OSB as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Sunday April 13, 2014 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS with the visitation following to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict’s Catholic Church or American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Anne was born October 16, 1946 in Atchison, KS the daughter Charles and Margaret (Anderson) Young. She graduated from the Mount St Scholastica Academy in 1964. Anne was mainly a housewife, but also worked as a dispatcher for Atchison Sheriff’s department, Wood Oil Company as a store manager and Atchison Elementary School as a kitchen manager. She was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church, volunteered regularly at Salvation Army. Anne enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, casinos, ceramics and riding horses. Anne especially loved spending time with her family and her coffee.

Anne married Larry Bilderback on April 30, 1966; he preceded her in death on March 13, 1995. She married Robert Hanshaw on August 16, 2003; he preceded her in death on April 29, 2007. Survivors include three sons; John Bilderback, Effingham, KS, Wade (Pamela) Bilderback, Atchison, KS and Brian Bilderback, Belton, MO and a daughter Nicole (Fernando) Messer, Fort Ashby, WV, a sister Gloria Sims, Riverton, KS, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents a son Michael Bilderback and a great grandson James Reynolds III.
