Obituary for Lester F. Noll

Lester F. Noll, 90, of Nortonville, KS, passed away, Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Winchester Living Center, Winchester, KS.

Graveside Funeral Services and Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Corpus Christi Cemetery in the Mooney Creek Community of Winchester, KS. Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:30 am, Monday, at the O’Trimble Funeral Home in Nortonville where a rosary will be recited at 10:00 am. Memorial Contributions in honor of Lester are suggested to the Nortonville American Legion and may be left in care of the funeral home. Lester was born on September 14, 1921 near Nortonville, the son of Louis B. and Teresa K. (Bertels) Noll. Lester joined the US Army Air Corp on Sept. 22, 1942 and served overseas in Great Britain during World War II for the 100th Bomb Group. Upon returning home from military service, Lester primarily worked as a self-employed farm equipment mechanic. Lester was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church at Mooney Creek and after moving to Nortonville, he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Lester was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2885, the Ozawkie American Legion Post, and Meridan, KS, Old Threshers Association.

Lester and Westine A. Anderson were married from October 25, 1947 until September 29, 1989. Westine preceded in death on January, 24, 2012.

Survivors include four sons, Duane (Kathy) Noll, of McLouth, Ron (Cheryl) Noll of Oskaloosa, Kieth (Margie) Noll of Winterset, IA, and Randy (Kristy) Noll of Nortonville; a daughter, Lorraine (Frank) Glowczak of Portland, MA; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Westine Noll; a brother, Ralph Noll; and a sister, Catherine Parnell.
