Sandra Sue Truman, 74 of Hiawatha, KS died on Saturday, Dec. 31st, 2022, at the Maple Heights Nursing Center, Hiawatha, KS.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, Jan. 5th, 2023, at the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS with Rev. Robert Ziegler, Pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church Officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Sandra was born on Aug. 28, 1948, in Atchison, KS the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Stevenson-Cafferty) Thompson. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1966 and was a housewife/homemaker. She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, word find puzzles, and was a great baker and pie maker.
She was married to George Truman on March 11, 1966, in Atchison, KS. Mr. Truman survives of the home. Additional survivors include three daughters, Shelly Davis, Hiawatha, KS, Angela Truman, Los Angeles, CA, and Amy Gilbreath, McKinney, TX, a brother Stephen Thompson, Weatherford, TX, a sister Shirley Fuller, Atchison, KS, four grand children Margaret Davis, Sam Bathfield, Declan Bathfield, and Rob Huff. Her parents preceded her in death.
