Obituary for Patrick Dennis Farrell
Patrick Dennis Farrell, 63, Kansas City, KS passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Sat. June 22, 2019 at St. Ann’s Church, Effingham with Fr. Dan Gardner as Celebrant. A private family burial will take place at a later time and date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. The body has been cremated; the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Pat was born on January 18, 1956 in Atchison KS the son of Jack R. and Rosemary (Candreia) Farrell. His early childhood was spent in Topeka, KS and he and his family moved to Effingham, KS in 1968. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1974. After graduation Pat worked for the Atchison Fire Department until an injury ended his firefighting career in 1976. He moved to Kansas City KS where he owned and operated his own delivery service and then worked for the Wyandotte County Kansas Parks and Recreation Department for several years. He enjoyed music movies, taking road trips, motorcycles, muscle cars and was a big animal lover. He also was an avid collector.
Survivors include two brothers, Brian Farrell, KC KS and John Farrell, KC, MO, three sisters; Colleen Gammon, Atchison, KS, Shelley Farrell, KC KS, and Julie Farrell (Mike Yeager) KC KS, nieces Lauren Gammon, Alyssa Langford Newman, and Heather Langford, and nephews, Nathan Gammon, Raymond Langford; Aunt & Uncle Alice & Calvin Smith, Fairborn, OH, and several cousins. His parents preceded him in death. Pat had a generous and caring heart and he enjoyed helping people. Rest easy Pat, God Speed. We Love You.
