Obituary for Leo Kenneth "Kenny" Merando Jr.

Leo “Kenny” Kenneth Merando, Jr., 75, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Holton Community Hospital, Holton, KS.
Mr. Merando has been cremated and there will be no services planned. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton and O’Trimble Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Kenny was born August 9, 1946, in Frontenac, KS, the son of Leo and Verna (Thomas) Merando, Sr. He was a welder with the Boiler Makers. Kenny was of the Catholic faith, and he enjoyed his cattle and horses, especially spending time with his grandchildren. During the last 17 years of his life, he got to spend them doing what he always dreamed of; raising cattle.
Kenny married Jann Sween on July 29, 1983; she survives of home. He is also survived by a son, Eric and Meredith Paterson, Emporia, KS, a sister Carmella and Ted Born, Olathe, KS, a brother Guy Merando, a granddaughter, Riley Paterson, Tuscumbia, AL, a grandson, Teddy Paterson, Emporia, KS, a nephew, Calen Born, and an adopted family, son in law and daughter, David and Barbara Lawrence, Lawrence, KS, grandchildren Morgan and Samantha Lawrence, Lawrence, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Kelly Merando and Ryan Paterson, three sisters, Connie Ebbs, Judy Edwards, Diane Stephens.
