Obituary for Kellie Justine Schuetz (Norris)

Kellie Justine Schuetz, 51, of Smithville, MO died on Monday, Dec. 28th, 2020 in North Kansas City Hospital as the result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen L. Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday prior to the services. Kellie was born on August 31, 1969 in Atchison KS the daughter of William J. and Jerri (Thomas) Norris, Sr. She graduated from Midway-Denton High School in 1987 and had been active in playing basketball, volley ball and cheerleading. Kellie attended Highland Community College for 2 years. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Atchison Hospital, and later Jefferson County Hospital, Winchester. She also worked as a cook for the Atchison YMCA Daycare Center and then as a Cognitive-Transitional Living Specialist for Mindsmatter,LLC in Overland Park, KS. Kellie was a born again Christian, attending various church services. She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting snow men and was an avid Chief’s fan. She especially enjoyed family gatherings, and her grandchildren.

She was married to James Schuetz on June 17, 1989. They were later divorced. Survivors include three daughters Jaime (John) Ramirez, Lansing KS, Brooklyn Grippin, St. Joseph, MO, and Kallie Young, Mound City, KS, a son Taylor (Brittnay) Schuetz, Bonner Springs, KS, her mother Jerri Roberts, Kansas City, MO, former significant other Bobby Young, Mound City, KS, five brothers Bill (Beth) Norris, Jr., Atchison KS, Joe Norris, Branson West, MO, Scott (Stefani) Norris, Atchison, KS , Jeff (Erica) Norris, Atchison, KS, and Dustin (Shawna) Norris, Atchison, KS, two sisters Robin Norris, Kansas City, MO and Becka Norris, Shawnee, KS, four grandchildren; Jaycee, Cade, Keegan, Kruze and two grandchildren on the way. Her father William J. Norris, Sr. and maternal grandmother Justine Thomas preceded her in death.
