Jesse Lane Reiss, 64, of Weston, MO, died Saturday, November 6, 2021, at his home in Weston, MO.
Memorial services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 13th, 2021, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Elder Don Payne officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Three Rivers Hospice or the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jesse was born on February 17, 1957, in Smithville, MO, the son of Frederick “Wayne” and Elizabeth Anne (Borland) Reiss. He graduated from West Platte (Weston) High School in 1975. Jesse worked at several grocery stores as a department manager. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. Jesse also played in several Country / Rock bands including Stagecoach and Diesel Smoke. He enjoyed playing drums and keyboards. He also enjoyed making people laugh, especially his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, his stepchildren, and step grandchildren.
Jesse was married to Karen Merrill on July 12, 1985, in Weston, MO. Karen preceded him in death on April 28, 2014. His parents, four sisters; Mary Anne, Waunita, Gloria and Diana Reiss, a nephew, Adam Reiss, niece, Jean Anne Mitchell, and three grandchildren; Lainey Fultz, Nolan Fultz, and Logan Watowa also preceded him in death.
Survivors include three brothers; Fredrick (Rebecca) Reiss, Kansas City, MO, Frank (Rebecca) Reiss, Weston, MO, Donald (Janice) Reiss, Cummings, KS, a stepdaughter, April (Daryl) Watowa and two stepsons; Alan Fultz and Jeff Fultz, Atchison, KS, four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
