Obituary for Gerald K. Parker
Gerald Keith Parker, 81, of Lancaster, KS died Friday, June 21, 2019 as the result of an automobile accident on 286th Rd and 73 Highway in Lancaster, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 26th, 2019 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Rev. Seth Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to help kids with dyslexia or the Lancaster United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Gerald was born on Jan. 19, 1938 in Horton, KS the son of Chester N. and Anna B. (Kruseburg) Parker. He attended the Halling Grade School, Denton and graduated from Leona High School in 1957. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard. Mr. Parker worked several place during his life, as a farmer early, then for Hannah Car Wash, Portland, OR, then as Doniphan County Road Foreman and last as performing maintenance as a certified Millwright, for Abitibi Price, Hiawatha, KS. Gerald was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church, and enjoyed black powder shooting, and target practice with his guns, woodworking, metal working in his shop, making things out of leather and made several baby cradles, rocking horses, quilt racks, and welding pieces. He was mentioned in 4-H Who’s Who and especially enjoyed talking and helping his friends, family and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was married to Jolene Susan Copper in Dec. of 1966. They were later divorced. He was married to Wanda Elaine Eagle on March 12, 1999. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include four sons, Todd Parker, Lancaster KS, Scottie Parker, Sioux Falls, SD, Joel Parker, Leona, KS, and Joshua (Crystal) Parker, Raytown, MO, two step sons; Scottie Keller, Atchison and Adam Keller, Effingham, KS, a step daughter, Stephanie (Josh) Garrison, Atchison KS, a brother Richard M. Parker, Independence, MO, fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His parents, a sister, Marilyn JoAnn Adams, preceded him in death.
