Doris L. Shufflebarger, 100, of Atchison, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 09, 2022, at Vintage Park, Atchison, KS.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, KS, with Rev. Peter Rehwaldt officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who arrangements have been entrusted. Doris was born April 3, 1921, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Rudolph and Elizabeth (Klein) Winkler. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Doris enjoyed being involved in the church, gardening flowers, reading and sewing.
Doris married James Reeves Shufflebarger on January 18, 1942 in Atchison, KS. He preceded her on March 31, 1990. Survivors include a son, Ron (Le) Shufflebarger, Eugene, OR, a daughter, Karen Riepenkroger, Blue Springs, MO, two grandchildren, Stacy Townsley, Indianapolis, IN, Crista (Steve) Johnson, Salt Lake City, UT, four great grandchildren, Liah and Toby Townsley, Carter and Greeley Johnson.
She was also preceded by her parents, Rudolph and Elizabeth (Klein) Winkler and a sister, Elizabeth Corcoran.
