Obituary for Carol Harris (Hurst-Colouris)
Carol Harris, 75 of Atchison, KS, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
There will be a family graveside service on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 10:00 am at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS, with Rev. Stephen Lucas officiating. Following the service there will be a lunch provided for all family and friends at Atchison Faith Bible Fellowship Church at 12:00 noon. Memorials are suggested to Faith Bible Fellowship Church or Freedom Healthcare Foundation and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who has been entrusted with the arrangements. Carol was born December 16, 1946, in New York City, New York, the daughter of George and Hazel (Hurst) Colouris. Carol grew up in California where she met and married the love of her life Kenneth Harris. Shortly after they married, they moved to his hometown, Atchison, KS, where they raised their family. Carol worked for 47 years at Saunders Mop Factoring later renamed Golden Star. Kenneth and Carol loved to go dancing and playing cards with friends and family every Saturday until Kenneth’s passing in April 1999.
Survivors include her five children daughters Wendy Harris, Terry (David) Trimble, Tracy (Ron)Wenger, Kena (Tony) Ramirez and a son Kenneth Harris II, her brother George (Pam) Colouris, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Harris, and her parents.
