Obituary for Alice T Priddy (Striegel)

Alice T. Priddy, 93, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2020, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Alice was born in Leavenworth, Kansas, on August 21, 1926, to John W. and Mary “Alice” (Stephan) Striegel of Easton, Kansas. She graduated from Easton High School in May 1943. After working in Kansas City, Missouri for a short period of time, she met and later married Philip Priddy, on Nov. 29, 1946, a sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps. They later moved to Los Angeles, California, where she worked in a managerial position at Southwestern Bell. She lived her later years in White City, Kansas, Easton, Kansas and Lawrence, Kansas. Most recently she resided at Brookside Assisted Living in Overbrook, Kansas. Alice enjoyed gardening, cooking, and chatting with her loved ones. Her conversations were lighthearted, anecdotal, and funny.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers: Vincent “Ted” Striegel, Easton, Kansas, John Striegel, Kansas City, Missouri, Stephen Striegel, Lawrence, Kansas and Bernard Striegel, Foley, Alabama; five sisters: Mary Ford, El Paso, Texas, Helen Hundley, Kansas City, Kansas, Frances Harnish, Easton, Kansas, Loretta Henderson, Hampton, Virginia, and Kathleen Wistuba, Valley Falls, Kansas. She was the last of the John and Alice Striegel clan. Although Alice had no children, she had many nieces and nephews who loved her. She was a kind and gently soul that will be missed by all that knew her.
A Low Requiem Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Fr. Novak as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Easton, KS. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are the donor’s choice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
