Obituary for Roger Wayne Kley

Roger Wayne Kley, 71, of Atchison, KS, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Mosaic Life Care.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School or American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Roger was born January 24, 1947 in Kansas City, MO the son of Herman and Eileen (Braun) Kley. He owned and operated his own trucking company for many years, along with being a dairy farmer. Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Atchison VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed riding bikes, horses, semi trucks and being outside.

Roger married Darlene Garrett on June 1, 1969, she preceded him in death on March 13, 2010, he then married Sharon Thomas in 2011, and she survives of the home. Additional survives include three sons, Roger (Angelina) Kley, Jr., Fall City, NE, Shannon (Estefania) Kley, Raytown, MO, Handsome Kley of the home, five daughters, Peggy (Johnny) Roberts, Indianapolis, IN, Rondia (Gary) Moss, Alpine, CA, Chantiel Kley, Amazonia, MO, Kristi McCray, Atchison, KS, Clowie Kley of the home, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughter Lana Weber.
