Stephen Ray  Larabee
Stephen Ray Larabee, 61, of Horton, KS passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 7, 2018 at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS, with Rev. Ryan Vanpeursem officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Hiawatha, KS and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Stephen was born May 3, 1957 in Sabetha, KS, the son of Alvin and Nellie (Sanders) Larabee. He was a truck driver having worked for Koch Truckin, Keim Trucking and a delivery driver for Lowe’s in Topeka. In recent years he had worked at Autos-4-U as a salesman. Stephen was a member of First Baptist Church of Hiawatha, KS and also attended Kahbeah Chapel. He enjoyed playing the piano and singing at church, he even would go play weekly at the Manor in Horton for the residences. Stephen also enjoyed dirt track racing even sponsored cars.
Survivors include a daughter, Sondra and Jeremy Anderson, Horton, KS, a son Brian and Miranda Larabee, Hiawatha, KS, a brother, Don (Becky) Larabee, Houston, TX, a sister Bonnie (Alvin) Ralph, Topeka, KS, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and three dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Travis Larabee, and a brother, Melvin Larabee.
