John William Church, 84, of Atchison KS passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Atchison Hospital.

Memorial service will be at 3:00PM, June 17, 2017 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Atchison, KS with Fr. Jon Hullinger and Fr. Ray Hartjen. Burial will follow in the Trinity Episcopal Garden. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the church. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Trinity Episcopal Church Garden and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. John was born July 3, 1932 in Atchison, KS, the son of Hyland and Myrtle (Conner) Church. He served in the United States Army for twenty years. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and the VFW. John enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, woodworking and visits from the grandchildren, great grandchildren and his sister.

John married Delores Bond on May 3, 1953 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Atchison, KS; she preceded him in death on July 19, 2014. Survivors include, a sister, Carol and Bill Knoch, Ft. Wayne, IN, two grandchildren, Jennifer and Todd Halling, Lenexa, KS and Billy Jasper, St. Joseph, MO, great grandchildren, Noah and Brooke Halling and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Craig Church, a daughter, Sheila Church, two brothers, Larry and Hyland (Butch) Church, a sister Wanda Church Barnett.
