Glenn Melvin “Brownie” Hargrove, 92 formally of Effingham, KS passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at Village Villa Nursing Home, Nortonville, KS.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS with Rev. Jeff Cochran and Tim Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 8 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Village Villa Nursing Home, Nortonville, KS and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Glenn was born on November 27, 1924 in Effingham, KS, the son of Brown and Pauline (Weit) Hargrove. He graduated from ACCHS in 1942. Glenn farmed for many years. He was member of the Effingham Union Church, Lions Club of Effingham, KS, IOOF Lodge #250 of Effingham, KS, a FFA State Farmer along with being an Honorary Member. Glenn enjoyed his grandkids and Royals Baseball.

Glenn married E. Louise Hunt on March 11, 1951 at the First Baptist Church in Atchison, KS. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Barb and Gary Jacobson, Effingham, KS, a son, Daniel and JoJo Hargrove, Redcloud, NE, a brother Max Hargove, Rushville, MO, a sister, Geraldine Wohlgemuth, Effingham, KS, eight grandchildren, Nick and Jennifer Eylar, Samantha and Barry Lamb, Heather and Jeremiah Jackson, Angela Eylar and fiancé Scott Davison, Marc Hargrove, Cassie Muckenthaler, Brandon and Joy Muckenthaler, Lance Hargrove, and five great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a baby sister, Della Margaret Hargrove.
