David F. Banker, 74, of Nortonville, KS died on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, KS.

A Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, May 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Nortonville Pleasant Grove Christian Church with Rev. Bob Carter officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church basement. Private family burial of cremated remains will be at the Nortonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Nortonville Pleasant Grove Christian Church or to the Disabled American Veterans and may be sent in care of the O’Trimble Funeral Home, P O Box 267, Nortonville, KS who is handling the arrangements. David was born on Oct. 8, 1942 in Atchison, Kansas the son of David Benjamin and Ruth (Linder) Banker. He graduated from the Maur-Hill Prep School in 1960. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. Upon returning from the service he worked as a cable splicer with Southwestern Bell, and retired many years later from AT & T as a contract coordinator. David was a member and Deacon at the Nortonville Christian Church. He also served on the JCN- USD#339 School Board as a Member for 16 years. He enjoyed reading, vegetable gardening, and traveling with his wife all around the United States.

He was married to Nancy Edwards on June 5, 1965 in Atchison, KS, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (Katie) Banker, Tecumseh, KS, and Christopher (Jackie) Banker, Phoenix, AZ, his brother, William Banker, Nortonville, KS, and sister, Kay Wolfe, Atchison, two grandchildren, Chloe Banker, and Cale Banker. His parents and two brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Steven Banker preceded him in death.
