Louis F. Bidding, 88, of Atchison, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison, KS, with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School Endowment and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Louis was born on September 29, 1928 in Atchison, KS the son of Ralph and Katherine (Miller) Bidding. He attended Deer Creek Grade School, later completing GED. Louis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a maintenance worker for Ford Motor Co. in Claycomo, MO for thirty years, retiring in 1985. Louis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, having served as the Sunday School Superintendent and in the church choir. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW # 249. He enjoyed singing, reading, fishing, hunting and working on cars.

Louis married Geraldine Dykstra on December 27, 1954 in Atchison, KS; she preceded him in death on August 19, 2012. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Whiting, Atchison, KS and two grandchildren, Kara Whiting and Eric Whiting. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Edward, Ralph and William Bidding, five sisters; Ruth Watson, Doris Marr, Mary Farley, Velma Surritt and Rose Kohl.
