The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Sister Lou Whipple can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Liz O'Brien
Condolence: I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails in the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There! She's gone!"

"Gone where?" "Gone from my sight, that's all." She is just as large in mast and spar and hull as ever she was when she left my side; just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of her destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at that moment when someone at my side says, "There! She's gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

Condolence: Dear Whipple family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept my sincere sympathies. The death of a loved one is such a challenging time for the entire family. I hope that you can find some comfort in God's Word, the Bible. Acts 24:15 says, "I have hope toward God...that there is going to be a resurrection..." Here the Bible is assuring us that in the near future we have the hope of being reunited with our loved ones we have lost in death. May this promise be a comfort to you during this difficult time.

Condolence From: Jeannette Fischer (Sister-in-law to Elaine Fischer)
Condolence: I remember the first time I meant Lou. She greeted me with a hug and she was so kind to my son. Then when we went to the monastery for Christmas, I was able to hear her play the bells and it was beautiful. She was always joyful and just a pleasure to be around. Her kind heart will missed dearly. May god bless her family with strength in this time of sadness.
