Velma M. Rosenburg, 90, Atchison, KS, formerly of Cummings, KS died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Atchison Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Cormode officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cummings Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Velma was born on April 22, 1926 in Cummings, KS the daughter of Ira and Ruth (Ely) Surritte. She attended White Clay grade school and Atchison County Community High School, Effingham. Velma was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of the Cummings Christian Church, and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, decorating their home, and was a good cook and pie baker. She had fond memories of shopping with her mother, hosting fish fries, and going to the casino with her husband.

She was married to Roy W. Rosenburg on Nov. 27th, 1947 in St. Louis MO. Mr. Rosenburg preceded her in death on March 8, 2015. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Keith) Young, Effingham, KS and Connie (Bud) Parrett, Leavenworth, KS, three grandchildren, Jodi (Mike) Guetterman, Holly (Scott) Jeschke, Ryan (Ashley) Young, ten great grandchildren and one on the way. Her parents, husband, and sister, Betty Counts preceded her in death.
