Jeanette I. “Jan” Mikkelson, 76, of Atchison KS, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 09, 2017. Memorial services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig A. Lantz officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The families will receive friends for one hour prior to services on Saturday, January 21st at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jeanette was born on March 10, 1940 in Greenbush, MN, the daughter of Eddie and Hilda (Bronvold) Dallager. She had attended schools in Greenbush, MN. She was married to Marvin Mikkelson on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Atchison on December 31, 1975. Mr. Mikkelson preceded her in death on January 1, 2010. She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, where she was a member of WELCA, served on the Altar Guild, and cleaned the church for many years. Mrs. Mikkelson also was a childcare provider for many years. Jeanette was an avid K.C. Royal’s baseball fan, and enjoyed watching hockey and Lawrence Welk. She also enjoyed bowling in the couple’s league, playing golf, completing word search puzzles and going to her grandchildren’s school programs and sporting events. She and Marvin had done a lot of traveling, going to many countries and states. Mrs. Mikkelson is survived by two sons, Michael (Kathy) Mikkelson, Stilwell, KS., Mark (Debra) Mikkelson, Atchison, KS, daughter, Kimberly (Wendall) Smith, Atchison, KS, four brothers, Jim Dallager, WI, LeRoy Dallager, Minneapolis, MN, Harvey Dallager, Greenbush, MN, and Gary Dallager, White Bear, MN, seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, and brother, Edward Dallager, preceded her in death. Jeanette was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be truly missed.
