Obituary for Doris Lee Holtgrave (Wohlgemuth)

Doris Lee Holtgrave, 90, of Atchison, KS, passed away, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Medicalodge of Atchison KS.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, with Pastor Roger Frederick officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Camp Creek Methodist Church or Atchison Humane Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Doris was born on December 12, 1926 in Atchison, KS the daughter of Emil and Lottie (Wycoff) Wohlgemuth. She was grain buyer for Pillsbury for over twenty years. Doris was a member of the Camp Creek Methodist Church; she enjoyed camping, wintering in Texas and loved her cats and dogs.

Doris married William Holtgrave on November 13, 1948 at the Camp Creek Parsonage. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2006. Survivors include a daughter Brenda and Rollie Boyer, Atchison, KS, a brother, Thomas and Marilynn Wohlgemuth, Topeka, KS, a sister, Vivian Hooper, Atchison, KS, a sister in law, Gerry Wohlgemuth, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ken Wohlgemuth.
