David Paul Hefner, 58, of Atchison, KS died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at the Mosiac Life Center, St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, Oct 3rd, 2016 at the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Sunday, Oct 2nd, 2016 at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

David was born on March 11, 1958 in Winchester, KS the son of Thomas Eugene and Cheril (Adams) Hefner. He graduated from Pleasant Ridge High School in 1976. David had worked at Blish-Mize Warehouse as an order picker, as a custodian for U.S.D. 409, and recently retired from the Lockwood’s Company as a warehousemen due to a disability. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed woodworking, building things, tinkering with muscle cars, watching NASCAR and the Chiefs Football, hunting and fishing.

David was married to Connie Sue Romm on July 29, 1989 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on Nov 25, 2010. Survivors include three sons; Jordan Hefner, Bluffton, IN, Seth Hefner, Circleville, KS., and Zach Hefner, of the home, his mother, Cheril Hefner, Atchison, fiancé Wendy Harris, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Thomas (Leny) Hefner, Jr, Atchison, KS and Larry (Bobbi) Hefner, Potter, KS, and several nieces and nephews. His father and wife preceded him in death.
