Jessie M. Clinkinbeard, 95, formerly of Nortonville, KS died Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Park Meadows Senior Living Center, Overland Park, KS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, August 29th, 2016 at the New Covenant United Methodist Church, 312 Norton St., Nortonville, KS with Rev. Nick Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville KS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 28th, 2016 at the O’Trimble Funeral Home 329 Main St, Nortonville, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the New Covenant United Methodist Church, Nortonville and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jessie M. Fine was born on Feb. 13, 1921 in Williamstown, KS the daughter of Charles A. and Grace (North) Fine. Mrs. Clinkinbeard worked as a Postal clerk and following the retirement of her husband as Postmaster in Nortonville she stepped in as the Postmaster for 8 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Nortonville New Covenant United Methodist Church, was a member of the Rebekah’s Lodge, the United Methodist Women, and the Nortonville Homemakers Club. She enjoyed reading, cross-word puzzles, playing bridge, and especially her grandchildren.

She was married to Lindell R. Clinkinbeard on Dec. 25, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Andy) Ortiz, Shawnee, KS, three grandchildren, Amber (Brandon) Smith, Damon Ortiz and April Ortiz, three great grandchildren, Brady, Duke, and Evie Smith, two step grandchildren, Roxane Ortiz and Andrew Ortiz, a step great granddaughter, Josianne Ortiz and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, five sisters; Florence VanGaasbeck, Esther VanGaasbeck, Virgil Cobb, Ethel Stapleton, and June Barrett, and three brothers; Clyde, Harold and Wiley Fine preceded her in death.
