Bobby Dean "Bob"  Sheeley
Bobby (Bob) Dean Sheeley, 80, of rural Nortonville, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Sheeley was cremated and a Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at a later date at the Round Mound Cemetery, Cummings, KS. Family will receive friends from 1:30 pm, Saturday, until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the New Covenant United Methodist Church, Parkinson’s Foundation, or Northeast Kansas Hospice. Bob was born on August 4, 1935 in Horton, KS, the son of Loren and Nola (Koll) Sheeley. He attended schools in Everest, KS and graduated in 1953 from Atchison County Community High School in Effingham. Bob raised cattle and hogs and was a lifelong dairy farmer. He belonged to the Farm Bureau, Holstein Association, Dairy Farmers of America, and the New Covenant United Methodist Church in Nortonville. Bob enjoyed talking with people, gardening, coon hunting and traveling. He also participated as a mentor in the ‘You Have A Friend’ Mentoring Program in Atchison.

Bob and Grace Newman were married on August 5, 1956 at the Cummings United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Grace; son, Collin Sheeley, Nortonville; two daughters, Rachel Sheeley, Bonner Springs, KS, and Candace Sheeley, Effingham, KS; brother, Francis ‘Butch’ Sheeley, Nortonville.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 4 infant brothers.
