Gloria Johanna Mina (Goes) Witte, 89, Kansas City, MO, formerly of Rushville, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, MO, surrounded by her loving children.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 8th and Laramie Sts., Atchison, KS. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, Friday, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave, Atchison. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Luke’s Hospice House or Trinity Lutheran School Grant Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Gloria Johanna Mina Goes was born on September 12, 1925 in LaCrosse, KS, the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Faber) Goes. Gloria graduated from Atchison County Community High School in Effingham, KS. Out of high school, Gloria began working as a telephone operator, followed by working as a waitress at Pineview Country Club, before becoming a unit secretary at Smithville (MO) Hospital. Gloria was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and sewing, making many of the clothes her children had worn while growing up.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Leonard Witte; her parents; brother, Derryl Goes; daughter in-law, Diana Witte; son in-law, Bob Hueston; grandson, Scott Boroson and great grandson, Ethan Young.

Survivors include six children: Steven (Smithville, MO), Deborah Hueston (Arlington, TX), Valeria Barbour (San Jose, CA), Mark (Patty) (Rushville, MO), Darilyn Herron (Steve) (Kansas City, MO) and Kurtis (Rushville, MO); 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three brothers.
