Billy Ross "Bill"  Blide
Billy Ross Blide, 71, of Atchison, KS died Monday, March 9, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at the Mosiac Life Care Center, St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Friday, March 13th, 2015 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Terpack, Pastor of the Cummings Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:30 pm on Thursday at the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Atchison Humane Society and may be left in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Bill was born on Sept. 24, 1943 in Osborne, KS the son of Ross and Ruth (Watson) Blide. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1961. Mr. Blide worked as a welder for We-Mac Manufacturing, and later at Atchison Sheet Metal. He also did carpentry work for people on his own.
He enjoyed gardening and canning, hunting, woodworking and carpentry. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and had a special passion for animals.

He was married to Barbara Schrader on June 15, 1963. They were later divorced in 1985. He was later married to Betty Pike, and they also later divorced. Survivors include three daughters; Deborah (John) Thompson, Effingham, KS, Dana (Jerry) Ernzen, Cummings, KS., and Denise (Taylor) Joslin, Kansas City, MO., a brother, Garry Newquist, Muscotah, KS., four grandchildren, and best friend Earl Edwards, Atchison. His parents and brother, Cecil Blide preceded him in death.
