Obituary for John Edward "Jack" Kearney

John Edward "Jack"  Kearney
John Edward “Jack” Kearney, 79 of Atchison KS, passed away Saturday January 24th, 2015 at Mosaic Life Center in St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday January 28th, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating, with burial following at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday January 27th, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School Grant Fund or American Heart Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jack was born March 6, 1935 in Atchison, KS, the son of John and Mildred (Klinefelter) Kearney. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1953. Jack was a Union Glazer and worked for many glass companies, retiring from Carter Glass in Kansas City, MO, in 1997. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed fishing and hunting, woodworking, carpentry, cabinet work. Jack was the family neighborhood handyman.

Jack married Rosalie “Rosie” Jacobsen on May 4, 1963, almost fifty-two years. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include three sons, Mike (Karen) Kearney, Cummings, KS, Randy (Lori) Kearney, Atchison, KS, Gene Kearney, Lemon Grove, CA, a daughter, Cindy Kearney, Lemon Grove, CA a sister, DeAnn Wehking, Nortonville, KS, five grandchildren, Blake, Colby, Brianna, Ricky Kearney, Hollie Trimmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rick Kearney and three brothers, Gary, Tom and Gerald Kearney.
