Obituary for Earl Wayne Strine
Earl Wayne Strine, 73 of Effingham, KS passed Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, MO.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Effingham Union Church, Effingham, KS with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating. Private family burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Friday December 5, 2014 at the Effingham Union Church. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Monrovia Cemetery Care and Maintenance Trust and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Wayne was born May 7, 1941 in Horton, KS the son of Earl and Wilda (Hawk) Strine. He graduated from ACCHS. Wayne worked at Blish-Mize at various jobs; he also worked at Golden Eagle Casino in security for sixteen years. He was a member of the Effingham Union Church and the Lion’s Club. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards; later in life he liked hanging out at the farm with his brother Clyde.
Wayne married Pat Murray on April 22, 1976 at the Effingham Union Church, Effingham, KS. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons; Scott Strine, Effingham, KS, Philip Strine, Topeka, KS, one brother; Jim Strine, Hays, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Clyde Strine.
