David Craig Bartlett, 53, of Atchison KS passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Mosiac Life Care, St. Joseph, MO, as Dave would say “His brutal battle with cancer”.

Celebration of life service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Nancy J Kollhoff officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to David Bartlett Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com

David was born October 25, 1961 in Atchison, KS the son of Robert and Laura “Peggy” (Roe) Bartlett. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1980. David worked for Atchison Housing Authority in maintenance. He was a member of Atchison United Methodist Church. David was an avid fisherman, he loved being a part of the Bartlett Racing Team and he enjoyed Eagle watching at the river. In previous years David made lots of life time friends participating in league sports; softball, volleyball and bowling.

Survivors include, his mother, Laura ‘Peggy’ Bartlett, Atchison, KS, three sons; David Shane Bartlett, Waleska, GA, Devon Bartlett, Overland Park, KS, Dalton Bartlett, Atchison, KS, three step children; Stephen and Joshua Oswalt, Atchison, KS and Stephenie Huss, Troy, KS, three brothers; James (Jane) Bartlett, Atchison, KS, Thomas (Kim) Bartlett, Atchison, KS, Steve (Karen) Bartlett, Camden Point, MO, two sisters; Margo (Dave) Suhler, Hutchison, KS, Sandra (Mark) Dennis, Oakley, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
