Marilyn J. Galland, 77, of Muscotah, KS, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, KS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS with Rev. Lou Davies officiating. Burial will follow at Jordan Creek Cemetery, Bendena, KS. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Marilyn was born at home, near Bendena, KS on September 17, 1937, the daughter of Howard Linley and Ruth Helen Dorothy (Brittain) Ricklefs. She attended Oak Grove and Oakland grade schools and graduated from Bendena High School in 1955. She was a member of Jordan Creek Baptist Church, Bendena, KS. Marilyn was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for the Atchison Hospital and then for Tri-County Manor in Horton, KS. She loved her family, friends and community and was active with the Muscotah Outreach program. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, and attending her grandkids activities.

Marilyn married Ron Galland on April 21, 1967, at Jordan Creek Baptist Church, Bendena, KS. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include their children; Terry (LeeAnn) Galland, Muscotah, KS, Glenda (Bill) Newquist, Muscotah, KS, Raymond (Tonya) Galland, Lancaster, KS, two brothers; James (Vicki) Ricklefs, Wathena, KS, Robert Ricklefs, Raytown, MO, two sisters; Ruthanna (David) Seward, and Janice (Wayne) Cluck, both of Wathena, KS and eight grandchildren; Ashley and Andrew Galland, Kyle and Hailee Miller, Ryan and Rachel Newquist and Carson and Caylie Galland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters; Rosie and Linda Ricklefs.
