Nancy Kay Brown, 71, of Maryville, MO, formerly of Atchison, KS died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Monday, Oct. 20th, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to help with final expenses or to Trinity Lutheran School Grant Fund and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Nancy Kay Stone was born on July 23, 1943 in Atchison Kansas the daughter of Robert C. and Imogene H. (Horton) Stone. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1961 and attended Emporia State College for two years. Mrs. Brown worked as a secretary for the Federal Reserve Bank, Kansas City, Mo. for over 15 years and did typing for the Cook Book Publishing Company, Olathe Kansas for several years after leaving the Federal Reserve. She was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison and has been living in Maryville for some time. Nancy enjoyed watching NBA Basketball, and especially her grandchildren.

She was married to Errol T. Brown on Sept. 11, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison, KS. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2000. Survivors include a daughter, Joni (Duane) Whitham, Maryville, MO, two brothers, Larry (Janice) Stone, Atchison, KS. and Donnie (Diane) Stone, Kansas City, MO., four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, daughter Julie Groce, brother, Bobbie Stone, and sister, Judy Brown preceded her in death.
