Obituary for Daniel Gene Lanter
Daniel G. Lanter, 54, of Everest, KS passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at his home.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS with Rev. Steve Kagin officiating. Burial will follow at Horton Cemetery, Horton, KS. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Everest Christian Church or Atchison County Rescue or Everest Fire Department and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Daniel was born February 20, 1960 in Horton, KS the son of Roy and Marjorie (Harden) Lanter. He graduated from ACCHS and had worked for Edco Grain in Everest KS, as a feed mill operator. Daniel also worked for Sac & Fox Casino at various positions since its opening. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going bowling and playing poker. Daniel loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother; Marjorie Lanter of Everest and Effingham, KS area, a brother; David and Darla Lanter, Effingham, KS, nieces and nephews: Jeremy Lanter, Effingham, KS, Wesley and Lori Lanter, Nortonville, KS and Wendy and Chad Hinterweger, Topeka, KS, great nieces and nephews; Cale Lanter, Emma and Austin Lanter and Ashlyn Hinterweger.
He was preceded in death by his father.
