Walter S. Kout, 77 of Atchison KS passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Atchison Hospital.
Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS, with Rev Jeff Cochran officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, September 8, 2014 at the funeral home. A private family burial of cremains with be at a later date at Lancaster Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, Riviera, TX and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Walter was born November 11, 1936, in Atchison KS, the son of Henry and Daisy (Pike) Kout. He graduated from ACCHS, served in the National Guard for six years. Walter was an electrician for Rockwell, he also farmed. Walter was a member of Atchison United Methodist Church and Iron Workers Union.
Walter married Marietta Gilkison on October 1, 1954 at Atchison United Methodist Church. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters; Irene and Dalton Covert, Robinson, KS, Sharon Kout Miller and life partner Phillip Kelsay, Battlefield, MO and a son; Michael Kout, Yukon, OK, two sisters; Betty Farris, Sioux Falls, SD, Olive Higley, Nortonville, KS, three grandchildren; Sierra and Brandon Stortz, Kyle Miller and Macaila Kout.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Virginia Young.
