Donald Fredrick "Don"  Stout, Sr.
Donald F. Stout, Sr., 81, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Memorial graveside service and burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Atchison, KS, with Pastor Joseph Hansen officiating. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Doves or Kendallwood Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Don was born July 3, 1933 in Atchison, KS, the son of Lee and Elsie (Searles) Stout. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1951 and joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean conflict. Don was an engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation for forty years. He was part owner of Dunn & Stout Surveying from 1969 to 2011. Don was affiliated with Carol Baptist Church, and was a former member of the Atchison VFW, American Legion and Elks.

Don married Charlene Groenke on January 6, 1957 in Atchison, KS, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include three sons; Donald Stout, Jr. Oxnard, CA, Tim and Shelly Stout, Atchison, KS, Mark Stout, Atchison, KS, one daughter; Jolene and Dan Anderson, Agency, MO, one brother; Dr. L.E. Stout, Grove, OK, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Lee Stout and a sister; Doris Hayes.
