Delores “Dee” Church, 80, Atchison, KS died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Atchison Hospital.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church with Fr. Ray Hartjen, officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow in the Trinity Episcopal Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the Church. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Episcopal Gardens and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Memories and condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com

Delores was born on June 27, 1934 in Atchison, KS. the daughter of Gellette and Iva (Boatwright-Utz) Bond. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1952. Delores worked as a telephone operator for a short time here in Atchison and while stationed in Alaska. She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church where she greeted and welcomed everyone with a smile and a warm hug. Dee served on the Altar Guild, and taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling, and especially her grandchildren.

She was married to John William Church on May 3, 1953 in Atchison, KS. Mr. Church survives of the home. Additional survivors include two brothers, Ronald Bond, Shell Knob, Mo., and Terry B. Utz, Shell Knob, MO and two grandchildren, Billy Jasper, St. Joseph, MO., and Jennifer Halling, Lenexa, KS. and one great grandson, Noah Halling. Her parents, a son, Craig M. Church, and a daughter, Sheila K. Church preceded her in death.
